Scitec Nutrition‘s 100% Plant Protein, is only one of their many proteins you can choose from. This protein in-particular is an ideal substitute for vegan and vegetarian fitness nuts. The other qualities are its lactose, dairy and GMO-free. It’s sourced from the yellow pea, which means it’s slow-digesting, which makes it perfect for post-workout or a before bed shake as it promotes lean muscle growth and aids in recovery. And, did I mention the chocolate praline flavour is to die for! You think you’re eating something naughty it’s that good!
Why Pea Protein?
A lot of supplement companies are jumping on board and supporting plant-based protein powders. What makes pea protein so great? Its formula has similar ingredients to Whey and other animal-proteins such as Glutamine, Lycine and branched-chain amino. However, it doesn’t contain any lactose, dairy or GMO properties, which makes it ideal for easy digestion and vegans. Soy-based proteins compared to pea proteins can often contain lactose and dairy triggering those intolerances. If you’re an environmental nut, producing pea protein is more environmentally friendly than its other competitors. Why? Because it doesn’t need nitrogen fertiliser (vital for plant growth) or irrigation to grow.
